I do all of my letterpress work on a Heidelberg Windmill Press, but have been slowly acquiring and restoring some smaller presses that are non-motorized. Last spring I had a temporary issue with the electrical box in my studio, and I had to print an entire job on my Chandler & Price Old Style press. It was intimidating to get started because I had a lot of troubleshooting to do and a firm deadline of two days, but after a whole day of making adjustments I started printing and really fell in love with this press. I’m still in the process of making adjustments to the springs and rollers, but hope to have it up and running full time soon. I’m also working on restoring this tabletop Baltimorean No. 3 to working condition. Once finished I have a goal of creating an item or small series of items for my online shop that will be made using no electricity. I’ll keep you posted on my progress!
